The last few weeks at CCBH

Today Hannah and I went to TRI-C West and handed out information about the Family Planning Clinic at CCBH. As we are nearing the end of our Capstone experience we plan to outreach at TRI-C a few more days and at local businesses around the community. I have had many opportunities to shadow public health nurses, and I know understand their role. Last week Mary Clare and I went to Ford and volunteered at their Health Fair. We screened for high blood pressure and educated about the dangers associated with high blood pressure. The occupational nurse at Ford then gave us a tour and explained her role as a nurse for Ford. This was very interesting, and showed us a whole new side of nursing. Ford had its own little mini hospital and clinic set up to deal with any sort of health concern of the employees. We appreciated her taking the time to give us a tour and explain occupational health nursing to us. CCBH has been an educational experience.
